Worth’s first ever dog show, which was organised by five Year 12 IB students as part of their CAS project, was a huge success.
The event took place on the Austin Oval at Worth with about 150 students, parents and teachers present, and 50 dogs entered into a variety of categories.
The team said: “We wanted to do something fun for the community. After the last few years of little to no social gatherings we wanted to do something that could bring lots of people together for a fun-filled afternoon with the four-legged friends that have supported us through these hard times.
“We are very pleased with how the day turned out. We are all very proud of ourselves with what we have been able to achieve due to how much work went into it behind the scenes.”
The event also raised £320 for the charity ‘Imagine for Margo’ which helps to fund research on children’s cancer – a total which will be matched by a generous parent.
Creativity, activity, service (CAS) is one of the three essential elements that every student must complete as part of the IB Diploma Programme. Worth has been offering the IB Diploma as a Sixth Form option since 2002.
