Worth has today joined people from all around the world in celebrating Safer Internet Day, which promotes the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
Safer Internet Day, which is celebrated in more than 170 countries, inspires a national conversation about the benefits of the internet and also what we can all do to make it safer for everyone to use. The 2021 theme is ‘An internet we trust – exploring reliability in the online world’.
At Worth, yesterday’s weekly assembly was all about Safer Internet Day, discussing why it is held each year and how to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively. Tutor group sessions this week have also been dedicated to the annual event, encouraging conversations about the topic. At the end of last week, parents were sent links to global resources, pupils have today been invited to take part in a Safer Internet Day quiz and SMSC tomorrow will continue the theme.
