Worth came together as a community last Thursday for a charity hockey match in aid of Breast Cancer Now, which is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity.
Sixth Form boys and girls played against a staff team at the end of the school day in a ‘Worth Goes Pink’ charity match. Pupils from all year groups packed the sidelines to support the event while Friends of Worth, our parent association, sold hot chocolate as well as pink lollipops, pink doughnuts and pink lemonade.
A JustGiving page set up to support the event has so far raised £774 while a bucket collection on the evening added £215 to the total. With £185 raised by Friends of Worth, the total raised from the evening in aid of Breast Cancer Now exceeds £1,100.
The spirit of Worth shone through on a hugely successful evening. Well done to student Bea for organising the event and thank you to everyone involved in whatever capacity.
