Worth students have a great deal to celebrate today! Many students have had their places confirmed at some of the UK’s leading universities to read a variety of different subjects, including Economics at Cambridge, Chemistry at Oxford and Natural Sciences at Durham.
After last month’s strong IB results, we are similarly proud of our A Level students. Over a dozen pupils achieved straight A*-A grades at A Level, with a handful achieving three or even four A* grades. The overall percentage of grades at Worth being awarded at both A*-A and at A*-C has increased since the last set of regular public examinations in 2019, demonstrating that Worth students have emerged successfully from the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deputy Head (Academic), Dr Daniel Coughlan, commented: “Many congratulations to the students and staff for this year’s A Level results. Over 90% of grades in many diverse subjects, including in Maths, Chemistry, History, RS, Politics, and across the various Arts, Technology and Modern Foreign Language options, were all awarded at A*-C. This is testament to a great deal of hard work and dedication over the last two years.”
Head of Sixth Form, Mr Matthew Doggett, commented: “These results, alongside those in the International Baccalaureate earlier in the summer, see Worth students taking up places at top universities in the UK, Europe and further afield. Congratulations to all our Year 13 leavers!”
