Wonderful service honoured

Congratulations to Year 13 student Peter McBrien who was awarded a ‘Guild of St Stephen’ Silver Medal for 10 years’ service as an altar server at the 45th Altar Servers Rally.

Peter, who is Chaplaincy Prefect in Butler House, received his medal from Bishop Paul Hendricks, Archdiocese of Southwark, at the rally Aylesford Priory, Kent, earlier this month. Only five people received the award this year.

This is a fantastic achievement for long service and dedication, particularly as the Bronze medal is received after one year of service.

Peter, who has been an altar server at St Thomas of Canterbury in Sevenoaks for 10 years, said the role gave him a sense of fulfilment.
