Welcome Festival 2026

New Head Ben Pennington joined the Worth community on Saturday for a fabulous Welcome Festival which brought together new and existing families for an afternoon of merriment and celebration.

This annual festival, which was organised by our parent association Friends of Worth, is a great way to welcome new students and their families into the community.

Each of the Houses ran their own stall, the student jazz band played, the Drama department showcased upcoming productions and there were alumni sports fixtures. This was in addition to an array of food outlets and general stalls.

Mr Pennington proved to be a good sport by having sponges thrown at him in the stocks, which was Chapman House’s fundraiser. Housemaster Mr Tom Richardson also went in the stocks.

The event followed Family Mass in the Abbey Church and it was lovely to see so many families in attendance.

Here is a selection of pictures from the day.

Look out for separate posts about alumni sport on the day.
