U15A cricket team win Sussex cup

Congratulations to our U15A cricket boys who are celebrating after winning the Blackshaw Division Two Cup.

The boys beat Lancing College in the final on Saturday to complete a memorable season which has seen them win seven games out of 10 from a challenging set of fixtures.

After getting off to a quick start, Lancing were pegged back by Worth’s disciplined bowling as they were restricted to 135-8 from their 20 overs. Although wickets were falling regularly, Worth were up with the required run rate until the last six overs when more wickets fell. The outcome was in the balance but Worth showed real character to reach their target.

Mr Chris Wyles, who runs the U15A Boys, said: “This is a great achievement for a fantastic group of young men who had to battle incredibly hard for this victory. It was a whole team effort and a testament to their character.

“We also want to thank Lancing College for their hospitality and for a cracking cup final played in excellent spirits which was in the balance all the way to the end. Well done to the boys, may this be the first of many more to come for this group.”
