From an initial entry of 11,838 students from 950 schools across the United Kingdom, Year 13 student Tomoya Shiina is one of 33 students who have made it through to the second round of the Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad.

Tomoya, who has been offered a place at Oxford University to read Chemistry following his studies at Worth, is the second chemistry student from Worth in the past three years to have been selected for the RSC Olympiad second round.

This is an outstanding achievement by Tomoya who will now participate in the next round of the competition at the University of Nottingham in early April.

Many congratulations Tomoya.
