Worth School

For a seventh year in a row the Worth community, working with the charity Mary’s Meals, has provided a meal for every child every day they attend the Farsee Korma Public School in Liberia. Thank you to everyone who has contributed towards this.

Worth has been supporting the Farsee Korma Public School since 2017 and our support makes a transformational difference. It costs £19.15 to feed a child for a whole school year and Worth’s fundraising so far is enough to feed all 159 children in the school this year. Our pictures show what it means to the children.

Mary’s Meals is a fabulous charity which currently provides meals to 2,429,182 children in 18 of the poorest countries across the globe and their mission is to break the link between poverty and a lack of education, ensuring no child goes hungry in this world of plenty.

Money has been raised for Mary’s Meals through a variety of ways, including collections at whole school events such as our annual carol service and Speech Day, plus smaller group fundraising initiatives.

Farsee Korma Principal H. Boimah Dakaway said: “My long-term hope is that these children will have a bright future. I want to extend my thanks and appreciation to our donors for making school meals possible here.”

This year we are also raising money for the Chibale School in Zambia. We have raised enough money to fully fund Farsee Korma for 2023-24 but we are still raising money to support Chibale as well.
