“I am so grateful for my teachers at Worth who made me fall in love with my subjects through engaging lessons and their own passion for the subject.” So said, one of our students who celebrated outstanding A Level results this summer.
On Tuesday we published a number of A Level success stories following an excellent set of results for the School in 2023. Thirteen students achieved straight A*s and As across the board, while there were five students who achieved the necessary grades to study medicine or veterinary at university.
We asked some of our high achieving students about their results, how Worth helped them, their time at the School and their plans for the future. Today we publish three more case studies and on Monday you can read a third and final article.
Congratulations to all of our 2023 A Level cohort on their results and we wish them the best for the future.

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I took Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics and an Extended Project Qualification. I achieved A*s in Maths and Further Maths and obtained As in Chemistry, Physics and in my Extended Project Qualification.
How did you feel when you got your results? While I was slightly disappointed I did not gain A*s in Chemistry and my EPQ, I was ecstatic to have secured my first choice of university and I got an A in Physics which was a subject I struggled with greatly.
How did Worth help you achieve those results? Worth was pivotal in supporting me to achieve these grades as the quality of teaching remained excellent throughout my years at Worth and each teacher was very passionate about every subject they delivered to us. Also, I owe it to my friends for the countless hours we spent revising together and setting each other challenges.
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I have had a splendid time at Worth because of the lifelong friends I have made and the plethora of opportunities it provided in the form of clubs and societies like debating where I was able to develop my confidence and skills in public speaking which I would say helped with my university interviews.
What are you hoping to do next? I am now heading to Imperial College where I will be studying an Integrated Masters degree in Chemical Engineering.

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I took Psychology in which I received an A*, Religious Studies in which I received an A and Geography in which I also received an A.
How did you feel when you got your results? I was in shock at first as I did much better than I expected. I was then met with a sense of relief that all my hard work had paid off and a sense of fulfilment that I had done the best I could after a long two months of revision.
How did Worth help you achieve those results? The support my teachers gave me in the weeks leading up to the exams included individual support sessions as well as group revision classes. These helped me to consolidate my knowledge and also gave me motivation to keep revising when things began to become overwhelming. I am so grateful for my teachers at Worth who made me fall in love with my subjects through engaging lessons and their own passion for the subject.
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I am so happy that I was able to spend three of my crucial building years in such a welcoming environment. From the moment I arrived I felt I had made the right decision as I was welcomed with open arms into my boarding house, St Mary’s. I have definitely found friends for life which I will always be incredibly grateful for. My favourite unique aspect of Worth is its incredible grounds; being there for so long you begin to take the beautiful landscape around you for granted. Finally, the people that make up the Worth community; every staff member makes the Worth experience more special from the support that they offer to the activities that you are able to enjoy together.
What are you hoping to do next? I will be taking a gap year this coming year, focusing on social work in South America as well as working in Tokyo and Vienna. I am very excited to take a year out to explore the world as well as myself. Next September I will be attending Edinburgh University to study Theology and Philosophy.

Which subjects did you take and what were your results? I took Chemistry, Maths and Physics and got A*s in all three.
How did you feel when you got your results? Overwhelmingly thrilled that my hard work and determination over the past two years had all been worthwhile and I couldn’t have done better.
How did Worth help you achieve those results? Initially the teachers helped me explore, finding the subjects I love. They then encouraged me to pursue and push myself to do my best in everything I enjoy. Teachers, and all staff, have been incredible at Worth in helping me get my grades, through education, support and encouragement
How much have you enjoyed your time at Worth? I wanted to go to Worth since I was in Year 3 and finally joined in Year 9. It has genuinely been the best place I could have wished for. I have left Worth achieving far beyond what I could ever have hoped for, but more importantly happier than ever. I have many wonderful memories and experiences from my time, for which I will be forever grateful. Worth helped me find myself and with it happiness.
What are you hoping to do next? I will study Physics at university after taking a gap year in which I will teach myself further maths, study ‘The Feynman Lectures on Physics’, and get a job. Worth has prepared me excellently for life (I think!) and I’m very excited for the challenge and opportunities that lie ahead.
