Worth was delighted to welcome a number of guest speakers to talk to students last term, including Dr Patricia Scanlan who discussed the poetic muse in the modern world.
These talks were part of the Spencer Lecture Series, which is one element of our enrichment programme at Worth. The series provides our Sixth Form students and Year 11 scholars with thought-provoking, scholarly, creative, philosophical, political, technological or social enriching information.
Other speakers last term included adventurer, scientist and entrepreneur Neil Laughton, plus local MP Jeremy Quin.
More talks have been planned for the Spencer Lecture Series this term, with the next one being former Worth student Christopher Kelly who will be talking about the Basilica of Vezelay, a Benedictine monastery in Burgundy which is also a World Heritage Site.
