A successful term for hockey

Worth School

It has been a hugely successful term for hockey at Worth and the girls’ 1st XI rounded it off with an excellent 3-1 win last week.

The School runs a total of 32 representative teams, with girls playing in the Autumn Term and boys in the Lent Term, all under the guidance of Head of Hockey Mr Simon Faulkner, a former Great Britain under-21 international and a team of coaches including current England international Pippa Lock.

The 1st XI girls beat Lingfield College 3-1 last Tuesday to finish with a record of nine wins and two draws from a tough programme of 17 fixtures designed to challenge them.

The 2nd XI also enjoyed a good season while, from the younger age groups, the U13A team lost just one of six games and the U13D side were unbeaten.

We look forward to the boys starting their fixture programme after Christmas.

Well done to the 1st XI and all girls who have represented Worth this term.
