Students win praise and awards

Worth School

Congratulations to Worth students who won two of the three top individual awards at the regional final of the Youth Speaks debating competition, organised by the Rotary Club.

The team of three represented the School superbly and, although they did not claim the single place in the final, Worth won the Senior Best Chairperson and Senior Best Opposer awards.

All three students were complimented by the organisers, who subsequently wrote to Head Master Mr Stuart McPherson saying: “I had the pleasure of meeting three of your Year 12 students on Saturday afternoon at the Rotary Club public speaking competition. I am moved to email you to let you know what a credit to Worth School they are. They were thoroughly charming and went out of their way to engage with many of the younger students (and staff members) from the various schools represented in a positive and encouraging manner. They were an absolute delight to meet.”

Well done to all three students.

Debating is a real strength at Worth where a Debating Society is offered to all year groups.
