Students strive to Live Simply

Worth School

Students in the Worth Environmental Society are working towards achieving the CAFOD Live Simply Award on behalf of the School.

The Live Simply Award is described as “an opportunity for Catholic communities – parishes, schools, religious orders and chaplaincies – to answer the call for us to care for our common home and stand in solidarity with our sisters and brothers around the world”.

To receive the award our Environmental Society will need to complete nine faith-based actions revolving living simply, sustainably and in solidarity. To launch this quest, they have received a certificate of participation from Live Simply and a letter of encouragement from Bishop Stephen Wright, Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle and chair of CAFOD’s Board of Trustees.

Our students have taken full initiative with this project and are working with staff at the School, parish members and CAFOD representatives to roll out the projects.

Well done to the students involved.
