Students show resilience

Almost 50 Worth students showed great character and resilience as they took part in Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Gold and Silver qualifying expeditions this week.

Twenty-six students went to Dartmoor for their Gold award and staff were impressed by how well they worked as teams. Another 20 Silver award students went to Exmoor where, again, they did extremely well in challenging conditions, due to the hot weather.

Worth has a large and active Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme with almost a third of pupils taking part each year and we are proud to have the highest achievement rate among independent schools in the South East region.

Next week Year 9 pupils will be taking part in their two-day Bronze qualifying expedition on Ashdown Forest.
