Students impress at Model United Nations conference

A group of 13 students representing all year groups were presented with certificates for the way they performed at a Model United Nations conference last weekend.

The students, from Years 7 to 13, attended the annual MUN conference at Reigate Grammar School on Saturday. The event brought together 300 students from across the country to collaborate, debate and work on solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues, from ensuring the prevention of genocide in conflict to addressing the colonisation of outer space.

Worth students represented Russia, the UAE and Denmark. They arrived well-prepared and eager, performing strongly across their respective committees, with multiple resolutions passed.

MUN conferences are a simulation of the United Nations for pupils in schools and higher education. They provide a great opportunity to develop research skills and public speaking abilities.

The Model United Nations Society at Worth is growing in numbers in each year.
