Student filmmakers have great fun

Our students had great fun as they became filmmakers for the day when the One Day Film School visited Worth again as part of activity week.

Year 10 students spent a session learning about the history filmmaking and fight choreography before breaking into groups to plan, write, film and edit their own short, silent movies.

The day concluded with an ‘Oscars’ ceremony where prizes were awarded for Best Motion Picture, Best Performance and Best Technical Achievement. The winning film, titled ‘Climber’, will now be put forward for the 2026 10 Shot Film Awards which recognises filming excellence in more than 150 leading UK schools. The judging panel for those awards includes Robin Kinsey, vice president of marketing at Walt Disney Studios.

One Day Film School is a practical, hands-on filmmaking workshop created by the Young Film Academy, which is the UK's leading provider of film and screen acting courses for ages 8-18.

This was a hugely enriching day for our students, teaching them skills that will serve them well in life. Well done to all of our winners and thank you to The One Day Film School.
