St Mary’s Sixth is the girls’ boarding House at Worth for girls in Years 12 and 13. In 2025-26, the House is the largest it has ever been, with more than 50 girls.
Miss Charlotte Rule is the Housemistress of St Mary’s Sixth and works closely with her Deputy, Miss Stephanie Dawes, and Mrs Tola Abbiw as Boarding Tutor. Mrs Jayne Summerfield is the Matron of St Mary’s Sixth with Miss Emma Wren is the Boarding Assistant.
Mrs Andrea Kirpalani and Mrs Abbiw are Year 13 academic tutors and girls in Year 12 will be supported by Mrs Dawn Clubb and Ms Isabel Del Valle, who work with those studying IB, plus Miss Dawes, who supports those studying A Levels.
In St Mary’s Sixth, we foster a strong sense of community where every girl is valued, supported and empowered to embrace opportunities, to both excel in herself and make a difference to others. Our warm, family-like atmosphere is grounded in the Benedictine tradition, with humility, charity and a desire to ‘give back’ as a defining part of our community.
Service is at the heart of our ethos. Whether supporting a local homeless charity or hosting elderly guests for afternoon tea, our girls are actively involved in outreach that nurtures empathy and social responsibility. Every girl plays a vital role in shaping a culture of kindness, hospitality and connection.
Through grasping opportunities early on in their Sixth form careers, many of our girls go on to take up senior and school prefect positions in their final year. Our girls excel both on the sports field and in the classroom, and aim to give their best in everything, ready for the exciting challenges they will encounter in their future lives.
St Mary’s, situated with beautiful views of the South Downs, offers excellent facilities for the girls with every room having its own en suite bathroom. St Mary’s Sixth girls would normally have single rooms, although some Year 12 girls may also share a double, all with en suite bathrooms. There is a modern and bright study area downstairs and a wonderfully spacious common room for the girls to socialise in.
