Girls in St Mary’s Sixth welcomed elderly guests into their House last Sunday as part of Worth’s ongoing relationship with the charity Befriended.

A team of students, led by Marie, invited along a group of visitors for an afternoon of games, friendship, hospitality and refreshments.

Befriended is a charity serving isolated, elderly people in Mid Sussex and is one of the School’s partner charities.

Gail Millar, chief executive of Befriended, said: “Thank you so much to the girls for such a wonderful afternoon. Everyone was buzzing and all said how much they had enjoyed their afternoon and how wonderful the girls were.

“There were so many happy, smiley faces and it meant so much to our Befriended clients. For most of our clients they live alone and are very lonely. This afternoon brought them so much joy.”

Charity, service and outreach are key values we instil in Worth students.
