St Catherine's Feast Day

Tue, Apr 30th, 2024
Worth School

Girls in St Catherine’s House came together yesterday to celebrate the Feast Day of St Catherine, their patron saint.

St Catherine of Siena was a Dominican nun and mystic who lived in 14th century Italy. She famously said, “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire”.

Fr David Jarmy blessed the House during morning break and the Head of House read a prayer which the girls had written themselves, before pupils gathered for a picture.

St Catherine’s is one of two girls’ day Houses at Worth, with St Anne’s being the other. We also have two girls’ boarding Houses, St Mary’s Sixth and St Mary’s Middle.

The second picture shows the prayer the girls of St Catherine's wrote.
