St Bede's

In joining St Bede’s, boys become part of an extremely strong and supportive house family. What sets St Bede’s apart is its striking atmosphere of kindness, camaraderie and the amazing support that our boys provide for each other, writes Housemaster Mr William Crénel (pictured).

This House spirit extends itself through our charity work, such as our ‘Cycling to Nepal’ challenge, and the many social events to which our parents and other Houses are invited.

St Bede’s is very fortunate to be led by a team of dedicated House staff. Mr John Dent is Deputy Housemaster and Year 12 Academic Tutor, Mr Paul Cheeseman is House Tutor and Year 10 Academic Tutor and Mrs Allison Grubb is Matron.

We have a beautiful house located on the fringe of the campus surrounded by ancient woodland and, most importantly for the boys, within touching distance of the Astropitch, tennis courts and golf course!

Whatever a boy’s talent, St Bede’s is an environment where we embrace individuality and through mutual respect seek to bring out the best in each other. Our House Prayer says it all:

St Bede's House Prayer

O God, you have brought us together
as a house family.

We need one another.
We love one another.
We forgive one another.
We work together.
We play together.
We worship together.

Let the strong always have
something to strive for
and the weak nothing to run from.

We are St Bede’s.

These are our hopes and ideals.
Help us to make them a reality every day,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen
