Sports opportunities for all

Worth School

Among many highlights this academic year, it has been great to resume a normal sporting calendar for boys and girls after 18 months when competitive sport was severely hampered by the pandemic.

Worth is proud of its participation levels among pupils with more than 80% of the pupil body representing the School during the year across a range of sports including rugby, cricket, hockey (girls and boys), netball, football (girls and boys), lacrosse, golf, badminton, squash, fencing and basketball. This is achieved through multiple teams at each age group for the different sports, ensuring those who want to have the opportunity to wear the school colours are able to.

Towards the end of the first half of term, our U13A rugby team enjoyed a good game away to Cranmore which ended in a 35-25 win for the hosts. Here are some pictures from the match thanks to a Worth parent.

As well as providing sports opportunities for all, the Talented Athlete Support Programme (TASP) nurtures and supports the most hard-working and aspirational athletes within the School. This programme includes one-to-one/small group coaching with top coaches, access to video analysis and performance monitoring, strength and conditioning, nutritional advice and performance monitoring and access to top-quality competition through school fixtures, pathway programmes and club links.
