Our annual Sports Awards Dinner for students in Years 11 to 13 was an opportunity to celebrate another fantastic year of sport at Worth.
It has been an outstanding year particularly for rugby at Worth with two of our teams – the 1st XV and U15A boys – reaching national quarter-finals. The 1st XV reached that stage by winning 13 and drawing one of their matches before losing in the last eight of the National Vase.
One of our 1st XV players, Tate Williams, followed team-mate Felix Bateman-Champain in becoming an England U18 international, featuring in the annual Six Nations Festival in France in April. Meanwhile, 1st XI cricket captain George McLoughlin has been taken on by Surrey Academy.
There have been lots of other successes across different sports, with great progress notably in hockey and our lacrosse girls featuring at the nationals for the first time.
These successes were celebrated with the presentation of awards for various sports, as well as the Mitchell Shields which are given to an individual boy and girl in recognition of both sporting excellence and also endeavour, commitment, contribution across all three terms and the upholding of the values of sport at Worth. This year’s winners were Grace and Jacob.
Well done to all our winners and all students who have represented the School this academic year.
Here is a selection of pictures from the evening taken by student Matthew Laird.
