There is lots to celebrate about sport at Worth and another successful term was acknowledged with the presentations of awards, colours and half colours in the final week of school before Easter.

At an awards assembly last week Director of Sport Mr David Burton highlighted a number of notable achievements during the Lent Term including our 1st XI hockey boys reaching the fourth round of the National Cup, our senior golfers getting through to the regional final of the ISGA team match play competition, our 1st XI footballers losing just one match during the term and our U16A netball girls going through the season unbeaten.

On the individual front, Kent Kubo finished eighth out of 72 at the Public Schools’ Fencing Championships while cricketer Daniel Burton played in a First Class county pre-season warm-up match between Kent and Sussex.

It was also a term where we celebrated the continued achievements of former students, including 2025 leaver Tate Williams who won three caps for England in the U20 Six Nations Championship, featuring in matches against Ireland, Italy and France. Meanwhile, former 1st XI cricketer Claudie Cooper, who now plays for Yorkshire, was signed by Sunrisers Leeds in The Hundred auction.

In our celebratory assembly, Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player awards were presented for football, netball, boys’ hockey, basketball and U13 rugby, as well as colours and half colours which are the highest honours on a sporting front at the School.

Well done to everyone who received an award. Here is a selection of pictures from the awards, featuring some of the award recipients.
