The spirit of Worth shone through at Speech Day which was a wonderful celebration of the academic year as well as an opportunity to bid farewell to our Year 13 leavers.
An unfavourable forecast in the days before had threatened to cast a cloud over arguably the biggest day of the year at the School, however the expected rain barely materialised and the day went ahead with a mixture of formal celebrations in the morning followed by picnics and fun on the front lawns in the afternoon.
The event began with speeches in the Abbey Church, including our outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl as well as Head Master Mr Stuart McPherson and Chair of Governors Mr Jerry Fletcher. This part of the day also included Year 13 academic prizes and presentations to students who have been chosen as prefects for the 2025-26 academic year.
After coffee outside a marquee on the front lawn, there was Family Mass in the Abbey Church. Then the afternoon festivities began as families enjoyed picnics or food purchased from various stalls. There were also Art, Photography plus Design and Technology exhibitions to enjoy as well as the annual Summer Concert.
Thank you to all families who joined us and made it such a special day.
Here is a selection of pictures from the day taken by professional photographer Darren Cool. More pictures from the day will be shared in due course including separate news items on the new prefects, the presentation of prizes and the Summer Concert.
