Shrek the musical is another fabulous show

Our third major Drama production of the academic year was another huge success as younger year pupils put on three excellent performances of Shrek the Musical.

Held in the Performing Arts Centre theatre last week, pupils in Years 7 to 10 did an excellent job as they told them the story of a grumpy, green ogre who begrudgingly goes on a quest to save a cursed princess. As well as the three shows, the cast also delivered a matinee performance for visiting schools.

Head of Drama Mrs Natalie Lynch said: “I was so blown away with the overwhelming sense of happiness and love this show created within the Worth community. Musical theatre is supposed to make people feel happy and this show certainly captured that.

“I would also like to say a big thank to your students who worked behind the scenes to bring this show together, including our student director Ben who was fabulous.”

Worth runs a thriving Drama department, putting on three shows a year which are widely considered to be outstanding. The other shows this year were The Addams Family and Six the Musical.

Our next big show at Worth will be an interactive performance of Sweeney Todd on 18 and 19 September which will include a three-course dinner. Tickets for this show are available here.
