Schola Cantorum sing beautifully

Worth’s Schola Cantorum sang beautifully at our annual Lenten service of Tenebrae in the Abbey Church just before the end of term.

This was a lovely way to cap off a memorable term of music for Worth which also included our annual Scholars’ Concert, the termly Ensembles Concert, the Chamber Choir singing Evensong at Chichester Cathedral, the Worth Musician of the Year semi-final, House Bands, an Informal Woodwind and Brass Concert plus an Informal Drums and Guitar Concert.

The atmospheric Tenebrae service comprises plainchant antiphons, choral pieces, congregational hymns for all to join in, scripture readings and prayers and takes us on the journey through Lent to Jesus’s death on the Cross.
