Our rugby teams enjoyed an excellent week at the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens, with two teams winning their groups and the girls reaching the Plate semi-finals.
The U16 boys played some superb rugby to emerge as group winners with three wins from three, beating Portsmouth Grammar School 40-17, Llangatwg Community School 43-7 and Hymers College 40-5 before being knocked out in the elimination round final.
The U13s were also group winners, with four wins and one draw from five fixtures, which was an excellent achievement.
With two wins from three in the group stages, the 1st XII girls qualified for the second day of competition where they continued to shine, including an impressive 22-0 victory against Blundell’s School, to qualify for the Plate semi-finals where they progress ended. Again, this was a superb effort by the girls.
Our 1st VII boys played well and won two games from three in the group stages, losing the other 26-24, which meant they did not progress further.
Congratulations to all who represented the School.
