As we look forward to sending five teams to compete at the Rosslyn Park National Schools Rugby Sevens, it seems an appropriate time to look back on another successful year for rugby at Worth.
This month our U15s contested the Sussex Cup final, our U16s featured in the Sussex Cup semi-finals and our U18s sevens team won its group at our own Worth Sevens tournament before finishing third overall as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Gordon’s School Sevens.
Across the 15-a-side season our 1st XV won six, drew one and lost three from a challenging fixtures programme, our U16A team finished with an identical record, our U15A team won 11 games out of 13 and our U15B team won five out of six. In addition, the U13A side won four and drew two of their six fixtures while a combined U13/U12 team won four out of six.
Next week we will be sending teams to the Rosslyn Park National Schools Rugby Sevens to compete at the following levels: U18, U16, U14, U13 and girls. Our 1st VII girls warmed up for the tournament by competing in the Reigate Sevens this week.
Rugby at Worth, led by Mr Tom Richardson, is flourishing. Well done to all boys and girls who have represented the School this academic year and good luck to our teams at Rosslyn Park next week.
