Rt. Rev. Dom Kevin Taggart RIP
Tue, Oct 14th, 2025
Worth School sends its deepest condolences to the monastic community of Worth Abbey on the death of our former Head Master Fr Kevin Taggart, who died this morning, at the age of 94.
Fr Kevin, much loved head master, abbot and monk, initially came to Worth as a prep schoolboy. After attending Downside for senior school, he returned to Worth to join the monastic community, helping to set up the senior school in 1959 as one of the founding teachers. He was later Gervase Housemaster.
He was Head Master at Worth from 1977 to 1983 and Abbot of Worth from 2010 to 2013. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
Details about Fr Kevin’s funeral will be announced by Worth Abbey in due course.
