Worth is delighted to announce a record number of pupils have completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
In total 17 students who undertook their Gold expedition in 2022 will have been signed off for completion by the end of Easter. Normally we would expect significantly fewer than that in any given year.
Many congratulations to all those students on a fantastic achievement.
Worth has a large and active DofE programme with almost a third of pupils taking part each year at either Bronze, Silver or Gold Award level and we are proud to have the highest achievement rate among independent schools in the South East region.
The DofE Award contains four elements which help shape individuals: volunteering, a physical activity, acquiring skills and undertaking an expedition.
Today (Thursday) two DofE groups from the current academic year set off on practice expeditions, with our Gold Award students heading to Dartmoor and Silver Award students to Exmoor. Good luck to them all.
