Worth pupils enjoyed an excellent set of results in the UK Biology Challenge including one participant winning a gold award which puts them within the top 5% in the country.
In addition, four pupils achieved the silver award which puts them within the top 10% and five claimed bronze, which is the top 15%. This is only the second time Worth has entered this national competition and the results were hugely impressive, with many others achieving a highly commended award.
The UK Biology Challenge is an annual online competition for Year 10 pupils. Run by UK Biology Competitions (UKBC), more than 40,000 pupils worldwide take part in the challenge.
Questions test standard curriculum topics but also reward students who demonstrate broader knowledge from reading, natural history programmes and news media.
