Worth has a proud record on running the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and it was lovely to see a large number of our pupils acknowledged for their efforts with the programme at the end of the Autumn Term.
The School is a licenced DofE centre and, with almost a third of pupils taking part each year, we have the highest achievement rate among independent schools in the South East region. All of Year 9 are automatically entered for the Bronze Award each year and Silver is optional for pupils in the Year 10, with the Gold Award usually started in Year 12.
In the final assembly of the Autumn Term, pupils who have completed their Bronze and Silver awards were presented with their awards by Head Master Mr Stuart McPherson.
At the end of the Lent Term, Sixth Form students taking the Gold Award will take part in a practice expedition on Dartmoor and this will be followed by the Silver practice expedition in April.
