Pudding fast boosts fundraising

Worth School

Students and staff have been raising money for our school charity Mary’s Meals by foregoing puddings at lunch on Fridays throughout Lent with the money saved going directly to our fundraising pot.

In addition, everyone in the School has been given the opportunity to volunteer to have a lunch of bread and soup on Fridays should they wish, with the money saved also going to Mary’s Meals.

Worth School has been working with Mary’s Meals since 2017. The charity currently provides meals to 2,429,182 children in 18 of the poorest countries across the globe and their mission is to break the link between poverty and a lack of education, ensuring no child goes hungry in this world of plenty.

It costs just £19.15 to feed a child for a whole school year and through our fundraising we have provided meals for every child at the Farsee Korma Public School in Liberia every day they attend school since 2017, which is a remarkable reflection on the generosity of the Worth community.

This year we are raising money for a second school, the Chibale School in Zambia, which has 218 children.
