Students have been congratulated for their results in the British Physics Olympiad, which is an annual competition which encourages the study of physics and recognises excellence in young physicists.

All questions in the online papers require a different perspective and this fluency in recognising topics and linking ideas is, in part, what develops a physicist’s confidence and mastery.

Year 12 students took an introduction paper, with one receiving the gold award, seven earning silver, seven bronze and three getting commendations. Four Year 13 students took the full exam with three earning bronze and one a commendation.

Year 10 pupils will be doing the online preparatory exam this term.

Certificates were presented to students in the final assembly of the Lent Term.
