All families are invited to contribute to the community at Worth. We believe it is very important to keep in regular contact with parents whether your child is boarding at Worth or attending school on a day basis.
There are lots of opportunities to meet other families and interact with the School both on a social basis (see Friends of Worth) and at events such as Family Mass at the start of each term.
We run a series of parent seminars through the year, led by people from a variety of contexts across the Worth community. In 2019-20 there were three parent seminars in the Christmas term on prayer, and two in the Lent term on good parenting, while in 2020-21 parent seminars were held virtually.
Some of the seminars have focused on parenting challenges like our highly successful series on Parenting and Adolescence which included topics such as 'Sexual morality – where do the Christian boundaries lie?' and 'Giving your teenagers room to grow: challenges and opportunities.' Other seminars have focused more on the spiritual growth of the parents themselves. To help people cope with the pressures and stresses of modern living, we have had sessions devoted to different forms of prayer. Other topics in recent years have included 'Wisdom at Work' and 'A Spirituality for Busy People'.
Undoubtedly parents have greatly enjoyed getting to know each other better. Each seminar provides plenty of opportunity to discuss issues in small groups. One of the really encouraging aspects of all the seminars has been the exceptional level of participation.
