Congratulations to Year 13 student Simon Florek who has been awarded a Trinity International Bursary to read Economics at Cambridge University.

It is an outstanding achievement to receive a full award from Trinity College, Cambridge. The award will cover tuition, college fees and maintenance costs.

Polish scholar Simon has thrived at Worth since joining for Sixth Form in 2021. In addition to his studies, Simon has been an active member of the Debating Society and was part of the Worth team that won the Ethics Cup, a national competition, at the University of St Andrews in Scotland in May 2022. He has also been a member of the Philosothon Society, has represented the School at Model United Nations Conferences, he launched his own Economics magazine within the School and has competed at the National Public Schools’ Fencing Championships. Prior to joining Worth in 2021 he won a gold medal at the International Economics Olympiad.

Simon said: “Reading Economics at Cambridge has been my biggest academic dream and it has finally come true. It is a great honour and, given it is one of the most reputable colleges at Cambridge and Economics is a highly desired subject, I feel humbled.

“I can't fully express my gratitude for all the opportunities Worth School has provided me with. I have really enjoyed the level of teaching and the choice of subjects and extracurricular options available.”

We are proud of your achievement, Simon, and wish you the best for the future.
