An outstanding academic achievement

Mon, Mar 15th, 2021
Worth School

Many congratulations to one of our Year 12 students who has reached the last 36 of the UK Chemistry Olympiad from an initial entry of 7,160 representing 666 schools across the country.

Only 36 progressed from the first round of this annual competition, which took place remotely in January, and Worth student Cezary Wystup was among them, which is an outstanding achievement. His marks were among the top in the country and Cezary will now compete in round two at the end of March.

Head of Science, Mrs Andrea Kirpalani, introduced the UK Chemistry Olympiad as part of our enrichment programme and extension in Chemistry, and the School has gained excellent results in the past with gold, silver and bronze awards but it is understood that Cezary is the first to make it through to round two.

Best wishes in round two, Cezary. We are proud of your achievement.
