Worth School

An ambitious programme of development.

Science Laboratories

Three new state-of-the-art science classrooms are planned for the space between the current Science department and the Art School, providing modern facilities for our future scientists. This £2.5m project involves constructing a new single storey building and infilling the space between the existing Science and Art/D&T buildings to provide three Science laboratories and a new entrance to the department.

The design incorporates a new entrance and landscaped space in front of the building. The new entrance improves access, provides shelter and better connects the building to the wider school site. It will be constructed from materials which relate to the adjacent former stables: red brick walls, plain tile roof, dark timber framed entrance canopy and dark coloured window frames. This project will benefit all pupils and will be the latest addition in an ambitious programme of development at the School. See images and graphics below.

4G Pitches

Taking a stand against the British winters! Providing all-weather surfaces for rugby, football and the activities programme, new 4G pitches will greatly enhance our sporting experience and provision at the School.

We are resurfacing our eight courts to bring them back to the highest playing standards, providing an upgraded facility to support our tennis and netball players and our PE and Games department. This project is already in progress and is due to be completed in the coming months.

Library and Sixth Form Study Centre

One major project already completed in the new library and Sixth Form Centre. Offering a number of exciting new opportunities for pupils, the new Spencer Building opened in the Lent Term of 2022. It incorporates a new school library and an auditorium for all pupils, and the Sixth Form Centre provides seminar rooms, study and social spaces for our pupils to come together socially and intellectually in a stimulating, pre-university experience. It also has offices in which key staff – such as the heads of Sixth Form, IB, Careers, and Higher Education – are readily available to offer support and advice to our pupils in their vitally-important final two years. The new centre is the extraordinary gift to the School from a former Worth student, Lord Spencer of Alresford (Butler House ’73).
