Musicians show their talents

Worth School

Our students showcased their impressive musical talents as we hosted House Bands, which is the second part of our annual House Music competition.

A fabulous evening of entertainment involved all nine senior Houses performing a song they had prepared, which included one original composition.

Rutherford House, with an uplifting performance of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, were declared winners of House Bands and overall winners of House Music once the scores from the evening were added to the results of House Shout – when the whole House perform – from November. Rutherford had also won the competition in 2022-23.

Director of Music, Mr Lewis Brito-Babapulle, talked about “so much enthusiasm, so much great ensemble playing and great song choices” in naming Rutherford first on the evening, with St Mary’s second, then St Bede’s and St Catherine’s joint third. In the overall competition, Rutherford won from St Catherine’s in second and St Mary’s third.

The evening was plenty of fun, with students performing in front of their peers in a supportive environment.

Well done to all students who made it a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Thank you to two students for additional photography.
