Students who took on key leadership roles in helping to plan and run Worth’s inaugural Model United Nations conference have been honoured by the School.
The conference at the end of January was a huge success, attended by about 120 students from seven visiting schools as well as Worth students.
Students played an important role, on the day itself and having met every week since September to help prepare for the event. They chose the topics to be debated, wrote the research packs, chaired their committees and helped ensure that everything ran seamlessly.
Mr Will Warwick, who runs the Model United Nations Society at Worth, said: “It was a huge undertaking and these students put in an exceptional amount of work. They deserve tremendous credit.”
In assembly last week, 12 committee chairs were presented with certificates by Interim Head Ms Marisa Bosa as a thank you for what they have done.
In addition, three students who not only chaired at Worth MUN but also chaired the General Assembly and spoke at both the opening and closing ceremonies were presented with MUN ties.
Worth MUN ties are awarded to students in the senior years who have shown sustained commitment to MUN across several years. They are given to those who have demonstrated dedication by regularly attending the society, representing the School at external conferences and chairing at Worth MUN.
Well done to all students who were involved in leadership roles on the day.
