Meet our revamped team of sports coaches for the 2023-24 academic year! A number of new arrivals with excellent sporting pedigree have joined an existing group of highly-experienced coaches in what is a strengthened sports team offering the best coaching possible to our students.

Mr Matt Walsh, who has a wealth of experience playing National League rugby, has joined as Assistant Director of Sport, working alongside Director of Sport Mr David Burton. Mr Walsh has played for Rotherham Titans and is currently at Tonbridge Juddians, as well as having represented Worcester Warriors and Auckland Blues. He also coaches with Harlequins U16s.

Double Olympian Mr Calum Giles is our new Head of Hockey and Master in Charge of Golf. Mr Giles won 143 caps for England and Great Britain and scored 110 international goals. He was part of the Great Britain squad at both the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and the 2000 Games in Sydney, as well as winning a bronze medal with England at both the 1995 and 1999 European Championships. He also has an excellent pedigree with coaching, running the highly-popular Stickwise hockey camps in school holidays.

Mr Tom Wilkinson has joined the School in a new role as Head of Performance, looking after the sports scholars. Mr Wilkinson studied at Repton School before earning a degree in Sports Science at the University of Hull. He has played semi-professional football and also coaches both hockey and rugby.

Joining Worth as graduate assistants are Mr Lewis Kelly, who has played non-league football for Tooting and Mitcham, Horsham and currently Lingfield, and Miss Hannah Coulson, whose background is in netball.

A big welcome to our new arrivals who join a team of sports coaches which already includes Miss Jo Harvey-Barnes (Head of Netball), Mr Raj Chaudhuri (Head of Cricket), Mr Daniel Collins (Head of Football), Mr Andrew Olle-Nasim (Head of Tennis), Mr Tom Richardson (Head of Rugby), experienced teacher of PE and Games Mr Bruce Morrison, sports coach Mrs Kirstie Smith and Mr David McColl, who leads our lacrosse programme.

This team has excellent credentials to deliver the best possible coaching programmes to our boys and girls across the academic year.
