Congratulations to a team of five Further Maths students who finished a tremendous eighth overall in the UK when competing in the international Naboj maths competition held last Friday at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences at Cambridge University.

Despite only deciding to enter the competition two months ago, the team of Sixth Formers worked seamlessly together on a series of increasingly difficult mathematical questions, putting their all into the competition.

This hard work paid off as they finished sixth in the Cambridge competition, which was one of four UK venues, and eighth in the UK overall. This excellent result is even more impressive when you consider that most of the teams have been preparing since September for the competition.

Since deciding to enter the competition, our students have been preparing for it by meeting twice a week as part of the Maths Olympiad Club.

Well done to all involved.
