Lovely comments about Worth

Worth School

Worth hosted a hugely successful Year 7 Introduction Day last Friday and we have received some wonderful feedback from those who attended.

The day was an opportunity for prospective pupils to get a taste of school life at work including academic lessons, Art, Drama, Music, Design and Technology and Sport, while parents were able to listen to talks from the Head Master, Mr Stuart McPherson, Austin House Housemistress Mrs Anna MacMahon and our current Junior School House Captains. There was also an opportunity for parents to enjoy a tour of the School.

It was fantastic to see 65 families join us for the day. Here is a selection of feedback comments we received:

“Thank you very much for having (boy) on Friday. He had an absolute blast of a day and enjoyed every minute! He now thinks he wants to study Chemistry. Quite a game changer from his previous ambition of becoming a professional rugby player. Thank you so much – he really loved it and was very enthusiastic. Please can you let me know what the next steps might be?”

“Just a quick note to say thank you very much for organising the Introduction Day yesterday. It is a fantastic idea and allowed (girl) to really get a sense of what life will be like at Worth. She had a great time and even made some new friends! Many thanks.”

“Thank you to the team at Worth for holding a fabulous experience day today. (girl) was absolutely buzzing this evening and hasn’t stopped talking about her wonderful day. She said it was ‘the best day ever!’ She really has had a fantastic time, so I just wanted to say thank you all.”

“What I struck me most was the setting to one side of the usual marketing and educational opportunities of the school, and in contrast multiple examples of the embodiment of values. I later saw them on the wall of the Reception building, yet had we not talked about how they show up and heard the stories, I may have walked on past. These discussions led to an important conversation with (boy) about what humility really means, which led to a conversation about the leadership of ourselves. That for me is what stood out, a two-way dialogue of how school connects to home, and how both shape our growth. It was a good day for all!”

“Many colleagues and friends have told us that you will know the right school when you find it and they were absolutely right as it took all of 15 minutes for my husband to whisper to me that he was already ‘sold’.”

On Thursday evening we are holding our latest ‘Meet the Head’ online session. These evenings are an opportunity for families thinking of coming to Worth to find out more about the school, with Head Master Mr Stuart McPherson answering your questions.
