Lots to celebrate at Worth

There has been a lot for the School to celebrate in the last 12 months, including two national awards, and this film featuring Head Master Stuart McPherson explains why an education at Worth offers unique opportunities.

In the past year, Worth has been named Boarding School of the Year at the Independent Schools of the Year awards last October and we were also recognised by winning the Best of the Best Senior category for ‘Great Alumni Mentoring’ in The Week Independent Schools Guide 2024.

We had an ISI Inspection in December and the subsequent report highly praised the School in many areas. We are also excited by a new science extension which is currently taking place, adding three new laboratories to our existing facilities in a £2.5m project.

Other highlights of the past year include some excellent exam results last summer, a number of successes for our Debating Society including winning the Hartland International Debating Competition last Spring, plus the appointments of a new Gifted and Talented Coordinator and a new Careers Coordinator which offer renewed focus in those two areas.

On a sporting front, we have had two rugby teams reach national competition quarter-finals this academic year, Worth was named among The Cricketer magazine’s top schools for cricket in Britain for a seventh year in a row and four of our equestrian teams qualified for the nationals.

In this welcome film which was created by Smokescreen Visuals, Mr McPherson talks about what Worth is and who Worth is, saying “We are an academically ambitious, forward thinking, modern school set in a very beautiful part of Sussex … a strong, values-led school.”

We hope you enjoy this film.
