Worth students continue to support sea turtle protection society
Worth students are continuing to support essential work sustaining and protecting the population of loggerhead sea turtles in Greece.
WAQUA Ltd is an environmentally focused company founded in 2018 by Worth IB students, as part of their CAS project, which delivers drinks and snacks to students via a subscription-based system. One of the scheme’s aims is to encourage the recycling of plastic bottles among students at Worth, with a proportion of the profits raised being donated to ARCHELON, the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece in Zakynthos. By subscribing to the system, students automatically become part of the circular recycling programme.
Last year two Worth students, Antonio and Timeo, travelled to Zakynthos to present a cheque to ARCHELON. This summer they have been back to hand over a larger donation of funds to Anna Lamaj, the project officer of the charitable organisation.
As well as raising funds to support the amazing work of ARCHELON, WAQUA Ltd also raises awareness of the threats to the sea turtle population. To find out more about WAQUA’s partnership with ARCHELON click here.

As part of the IB diploma, students do a CAS (creativity, action or service) project which teaches them valuable life skills and is a key part of the Core Curriculum. For more about the IB Diploma at Worth click here.
