U16s rugby sevens boys reach Sussex cup final

Worth rugby is celebrating another notable success after the U16s reached the final of the Sussex Sevens tournament.

After starting the competition at Brighton Rugby Club with a defeat to Brighton B, the boys achieved wins against Hurst and Seaford which put them through to the semi-final where they defeated Eastbourne College 15-10 in a cracking contest. In the final, Worth met Brighton A, who are an exceptionally strong side, and they competed well before losing 15-7.

To be placed second in the county is a significant achievement which these boys should be proud of. It is also a great start to their sevens season which culminates in the Rosslyn Park National Schools 7s at the end of March.

Meanwhile, the U13s finished their season with victories against Cumnor House (25-10) and Lewes Rugby Club (30-5) in a double-header played on the Saturday before half term. These results meant the U13s finished with a record of 10 wins from their 12 fixtures this season, including four successive victories to finish the campaign.
