Our ‘Into the Sixth Form’ programme for Year 11 was launched this week, designed to send students into the summer holidays feeling relaxed, confident and prepared for the challenges and opportunities of Sixth Form life at Worth.
Current Year 11 students were introduced to new Assistant Head (Sixth Form) Dr Bruna Gushurst-Moore, who gave them an academic introduction to the Sixth Form. They then attended a Sixth Form Fair, where they were able to explore all the academic and co-curricular options available at Worth.
Inspirational and aspirational, the two-week programme also includes sample lessons for all A Level and IB choices, an introduction to the Extended Project Qualification, a chance to embark upon the UCAS and careers journey with expert advice from Ms Amanda Brookfield (Director of Careers and Higher Education) and an opportunity to develop teamwork and collaboration through the award-winning ‘One Day Film School’.
Also within the programme is an on-site retreat with the Chaplaincy team and two off-site trips, to Brighton and to Thorpe Park.
