Worth School

Debating is a real strength at Worth and it was pleasing to see all 10 Houses involved as our annual Inter-House Debating competition got under way last week.

Five first round debates took place last week, with the winners progressing to the second round after half term. The final will be on Friday 1 March with guest judges.

The Houses going through to the second round are St Anne’s, St Bede’s, Farwell, St Mary’s and Chapman. Well done to them and to everyone who took part.

A Debating Society is offered through our co-curricular programme, with opportunities for all year groups. Among the benefits of joining the Debating Society are learning presentation skills through effective speech composition and delivery, structure and organising thoughts, improving critical thinking, listening, teamwork and improving confidence.

Pictures show eight of the 10 Houses plus some images from the debates.
