House Bands launches packed weekend

Wed, Mar 8th, 2023
Worth School

Our annual House Bands competition, involving all 10 Houses, will kick off another packed weekend programme at Worth.

House Bands, the second part of our House Music competition, takes place on Friday evening when each House takes the stage in the Performing Arts Centre. These evenings are incredibly popular among students. The event was originally scheduled for two weeks ago but had to be moved to a new date.

Other highlights of our programme this coming weekend include a cookie making and baking evening on Saturday (who can say no to cookies?) and a go-karting trip to an indoor track locally on Sunday.

Our weekends programme, which is available to day students as well as boarders, is designed to further the educational experience, offering a variety of organised trips, social evenings, activities, clubs and societies, dedicated study support sessions, volunteering opportunities and sports fixtures.

On Saturday morning there are lots of study support classes taking place and among the other options this weekend are charity shop volunteering, scuba diving, horse riding, Forest School, swimming, dodgeball, volleyball and Worth Watching, our news, video and young reporter society.

On the sporting front, there is a block of nine representative netball fixtures against Reigate Grammar School plus boys’ hockey, football, lacrosse and fencing inter-school fixtures.
